KPMG’s responsible business strategy
Karel Růžička
Partner in charge of CSR
„We are advancing on the path to sustainable and responsible business and I cannot help but admit that in this way are aiding the further growth of our surroundings and our firm. The past fiscal year proved this once again. It still holds that we aim to build on ethic and transparent behaviour, as we ourselves want to do business in a pleasant and cultured environment. Our services offer the knowledge and skills of our people. Hence, it is vital for us to have good relationships within our firm and to offer to our staff opportunities and conditions that will let them do good work. We develop our technical and soft skills by aiding non-profit organisations with our services to help them to function to use their resources more effectively. We actively try to responsibly restrict the use of our main resource, paper, and aim to reduce business travel to see our clients to be as considerate of the environment as possible. Another important aspect of our work is to support the engagement and responsible approaches towards entrepreneurship in young people.
In the future we would like to try to better measure the effect that our CSR programmes have on our surroundings and on our firm itself. Our global sustainability priority is lifelong learning. We hence intend to expand projects that aim to include young people and that will entertainingly teach them how to do business in a sustainable and responsible way.
We are delighted that our activities in the area of sustainable and responsible business continue to be recognised. The Business for Society (Byznys pro společnost) platform voted our CSR strategy the Best Strategy for 2016 and we are proud to have been awarded the TOP Responsible Big Company of 2016 for our responsible approach to doing business. These awards and recognitions serve to confirm our commitment not to let our standards split and to aim for further improvement.“
